BODYWORK BY SILVIJA

My name is Silvija (they/them). I am a queer, licensed massage therapist who strives to offer client-centered, body-neutral work.

My journey into bodywork began as a client at 19 years old, I was dealing with pain, vertigo, and nervous system dysregulation.  I found relief on the table of skilled bodyworkers, feeling a deeper connection to my body, improvements in my mental and emotional state, as well as finding relief from chronic symptoms of both pain and numbness.

I was deeply moved by the work I received and my fascination with bodywork began.  I love being a student of bodywork, both in the classroom and most importantly in the session, with my clients as my ultimate teachers.

As a queer, larger bodied person, I have found it difficult at times to find space in the bodywork world, both as a client and a practitioner. My aim is to create a welcoming space for all bodies.

I approach bodywork with questions and curiosity, as well as compassion for my clients and their lived experience.  My goal is to provide client-centered, body-neutral work, honoring your relationship with your body and the way it feels at the present moment you find yourself on my table.

I am honored to be a part of this field and to offer my work to the community.

“Touch is a dialogue and we are listening to a sacred story” - Michael McMahon, my teacher of craniosacral therapy and myofascial release

Silvija is a third generation Oberlin resident and Oberlin College alumni. Their interests outside of bodywork include making jewelry for their business Three Lines Studio, building queer community, playing guitar, painting and collage, and nature walks with their pup Stella.

  • My work is for all bodies!  The nature of this work is gentle and nourishing, with your body guiding the pace of the treatment.  The benefits of these combined methods can be profound: feeling connected to your body, a deep reset within your nervous system, freedom from new or persistent pain, ease with movement, and a deep calm within the mental, emotional, and physical landscape of your life.

Much of my work is based in regulating the nervous system. I work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, difficulties with concentration, folks with chronic and acute pain, headaches and head injuries, and beyond. The benefits of my treatments can be felt session to session, but I’ve seen the best results with regular, monthly care.

If you have questions about receiving work, please contact me before booking, I offer a free 15 minute consultation. Thank you!

  • I offer 30 and 60 minute sessions at my Oberlin location, with a sliding scale and two pay-what-works sessions per month to help keep bodywork accessible.

At Flower Power I incorporate herbalism such as hydrosols and custom oil and/or lotion blends, under the guidance of Leia’s holistic skin care knowledge.  Their products and facial services are amazing!

  • I am happy to offer a sliding scale at my Oberlin location as well as two pay-what-works sessions per month. Sliding scale prices include gratuity.

    30 minute sessions are $70-$110.

    60 minute sessions are $100-$140.

Pay-what-works sessions are available for clients who would not otherwise be able to afford a session with the above rates. These sessions are available for any amount starting at $40 which covers my rent and basic expenses.

  • Bodywork is always beneficial!

I have seen wonderful results with clients who book once a month. For those with chronic pain, anxiety, or are recovering from an injury or surgery, coming twice a month at first is advised for the best results.

I know money and time are realities that can keep us from receiving regular bodywork.

If you are concerned about affording multiple sessions, please reach out to me and we can discuss options.
